Campground Policies

The full cost must be paid at the time of making a reservation.

All rates are based upon four person occupancy. Up to four persons may occupy each site overnight and one vehicle per site. Additional guests are
$10.00 per day per person and $5.00 per day per additional vehicle. Extra vehicles may be asked to park in the overflow lot depending on space and
campground capacity. RV sites have a limit of 4 people, tent sites have a limit of 4 people and 2 tents, and cabins a limit of 4 people.

All vehicles and camping equipment must have valid license tags and insurance.

Management reserves the right to have any vehicle and/or guest that is not recognized removed from the campground.

Visitors must be 18 years or older to register as campers.

SITES

RV sites and tent site reservations are not guaranteed as to actual location. However, we will make every attempt to accommodate a site request. Camp sites can be changed depending upon availability. Cabin rentals are guaranteed as to the specific cabin selected when making the reservation. Please keep our campsites tidy at all times.

TEMPORARY EQUIPMENT

Temporary equipment, such as awnings and tent screens, are permitted. Pet pens/gates are permitted and must be under 2 feet tall, temporary install, and pet owners must be present when pets are enclosed. Permanent equipment, such as patios, are not permitted.

DRUGS & ALCOHOL

Alcohol is permitted at the campground. Excessive alcohol and/or disorderly conduct is prohibited. Management reserves the right to enforce eviction of camper(s) who violate this policy.

Drugs are not permitted at the campground. Any drug usage, or suspicion of such usage, will not be tolerated, and will result in enforcing the Renter to vacate the property.

FIREARMS & FIREWORKS

Fireworks are prohibited at the campground.

Firearms are prohibited at the campground except for those Renters who have a NC issued Concealed Weapons Permit. In this case, the Renter should always keep firearm in locked vehicle.

ATVS, GOLF CARTS, MOTORCYCLES

ATVs, golf carts and motorcycles are permitted on the premise in areas that vehicles are also permitted, including the campground loop and nature trail. Such equipment is not permitted on the back pasture (owner’s private property), rock garden, or playground area (drain fields).

CAMP FIRES

Each site is equipped with a fire ring. Please use responsibly by not leaving fires unattended and extinguish fires once you are done. If you bring firewood into the campground, the wood’s origin must be from the state of North Carolina. There are multiple places to purchase firewood in the area including J&J’s Getaway General Store, Ingles and The Hanging Dog General Store. Campers may collect dead and down wood found in the campground.

Please do not bring firewood into the campground that originates other than the state of North Carolina.

CANCELLATION

If the Renter’s reservation needs to be cancelled, please cancel 7 days prior to check-in date to receive a 100% refund. If the Renter’s reservation is cancelled between the 7 day period and 48 hours prior your check-in date, you will receive a 50% refund. Any cancellations with 48 hours of your check-in date or no-shows will not receive a refund. We do not provide refunds for poor weather conditions or any Force majeure.

All cancellations will incur a $10 processing fee. Refunds take 3-7 days to process. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. 

EARLY TERMINATION OF RESERVATION

Once the Renter arrives at J&J’s Campground, the Renter is checked in. Cancellation or early termination of the site breaches contract and will not result in a refund of any amount. There is no refund for early termination (ie: staying one week from a month stay).

CHECK IN/OUT TIMES

Check-in is 2 PM ET; Check-out is 12 PM ET

If the Renter would like an extended check-out, or wish to arrive earlier, please contact the office to discuss availability. There are no refunds for early checkout.

CHILDREN

Guests under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult at all times.

DISHES

Dishes can be washed in the utility sink at the back of bathhouse #1. Please do not wash dishes in bathroom sinks.

PETS

J&J’s welcome your pets (2 per site max) and ask that you please follow respectful pet etiquette: leashed at all times on premise, poop picked up, and being courteous of other animals and noise levels. Pet pens/gates are permitted and must be under 2 feet tall, temporary install, and pet owners must be present when pets are enclosed.

QUIET TIME

10 PM – 8 AM. All children under age 18 should be at their campsite by 10 PM.

During this time, any loud music or bothersome activity that creates excessive noise is strictly prohibited. Please do not impose on other guests and be mindful of noises such as music, loud discussions, pets, etc. Management reserves the right to ask guests to decrease noise levels, and if necessary, ask loud guests to leave the campground.

SPEED LIMIT

Please follow the 5 MPH speed limit throughout the campground to ensure safety of all guests.

TRASH

Each site is equipped with a trash can for your garbage disposal. Please discard of pet waste in the designated pet trash bins, not in site trash cans.

VISITORS

Day and overnight visitors must sign-in at the office.

Guests visiting long term residents (1 month or longer) that stay overnight more than five (5) consecutive nights must be included on the rental application. Above mentioned visitors must be approved. Additional fees may apply.

WASHING EQUIPMENT

Washing camping equipment on sites is not permitted. If a Renter needs to wash a rig or perform severe maintenance, please connect with management.

WATER/SEWER

Hoses must be disconnected from water and sewer hookups during freezing weather. The Renter will be held responsible for any damage done to J&J’s property and equipment and the Renter’s property and equipment resulting from frozen water conditions.

WILDLIFE

Be aware of wildlife such as bears, coyotes, deer, raccoons, etc. They are not tame! Do not feed them or leave food and trash out on site.

WINTER CAMPING * NOV 1 – APR 31

When temperatures reach freezing, guests must use a heated water hose. If the guest does not have a heated water hose, the guests’ water spigot will be disabled until temperatures resume above freezing. Guests will be held responsible for any damage done to J&J’s property & equipment and the guests’ property & equipment resulting from frozen water conditions.

During the winter, with the exception of private events: Sites 16-27 do not have running water and the lower bathhouse is closed. The upper bathhouse with 4 individual stalls and laundry is operable year-round.

RENTER TERMS:

J&J’s Getaway, LLC, includes all owners, employees, successors and insurers of J&J’s Getaway, LLC. The Renter includes you and anyone else in your vacation party including friends, relatives, spouses, significant others, any minor children, and any other occupants under your custody, care and control, regardless of age or the amount of time you are anyone else occupies.

DAMAGE & THEFT

The Renter agrees to pay for damage or theft caused by the Renter or the Renter’s party or guest members. The Renter’s credit card used for the reservation shall be charged for any damages and/or theft found by the owners of J&J’s Getaway, LLC. Shall circumstances stand and the Renter’s reservation is paid by a non-credit card, such as check or cash, the Renter will receive an invoice for any damages and/or theft found by the owners of J&J’s Getaway, LLC. J&J’s Getaway, LLC is not responsible for theft of or vandalism to the Renter’s property. J&J’s Getaway, LLC is not responsible for stolen or damaged property of Renter or Renter’s property.

DAMAGE, EXCESSIVE CLEANING REQUIRED AND MISSING INVENTORY

You, the Renter, are responsible for the cost of any damage to the campground property, structures, and persons. Your responsibility includes the cost of repair or the actual retail cash value of the item damaged, including but not limited to, parts, labor, diminished value of the cabin, loss of use and revenue, missing equipment, excessively solid linens, excessive cleaning and a reasonable charge to cover administrative expenses.

NO SMOKING in public/shared buildings (bathhouses, laundry facility) or cabins. Any smoking of any kind in public/shared buildings or cabins will result in an additional charge for the costs incurred and a breakdown of the charges will be provided. Labor rates will apply at $100 per hour. J&J’s Getaway, LLC is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury to the Renter’s personal property.

LOST ITEMS

For any lost items, please contact J&J’s Campground, LLC immediately to notify management of the missing item. If lost item is located by management, J&J’s management will ship the item at the Renter’s expense. 

LIABILITY

The Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless J&J’s Getaway, LLC from any and all claims or liability and assume all responsibility for the risk of any illness, accident, injury, loss or damage sustained by You or Your party members or guest’s in or about the premises, to persons or property, during your stay at J&J’s Getaway. Renter and every person in the party (including children) assume the risks above involved in the usage of the bathhouses, laundry facility, pavilion, playground, any land or trails, or any other use of the facilities and amenities. Parents are solely responsible for the actions and safety of their children.

GUESTS REMOVAL

Management of J&J’s Getaway, LLC, reserves the right to ask any Renters, members of the Renter’s party, and anyone who visits the premises, to vacate the property at any time. In most cases, Management of J&J’s Getaway, LLC will give persons a warning before asking them to leave, however, Management reserves the right to enforce removal of persons at any time, under any circumstance. We do not tolerate drugs, excessive alcohol consumption, disorderly persons, loud persons, disorderly pets, or anyone/anything that is a threat or disgrace to both Management and other campers. Management reserves the right to deny any potential Renter at management’s discretion.
