at J&J's Getaway
Are you looking to Getaway to relax and unwind? Craving the sounds and feels of nature? Maybe you are planning adventures nearby and you simply need a place to stop over. There are plenty of things to do at the Getaway and in surrounding areas.
Rest & Relaxation
Enjoy the 360 degree mountain views and babbling creeks; you may just find a fairy cross stone! The low light pollution makes for beautiful starry skies and the perfect spot for a campfire.
Take a short nature walk to a magical area where Beaver Dam Creek and Horton Branch meet – the perfect place to hang a hammock or enjoy a picnic creekside.
Bring your favorite ball game for the grassy area and enjoy the playground and openness of this mountain haven.
Forgot to pack your toothbrush, need an extra camp light or want some camping apparel? Stop by the general store for all of your camping needs! The onsite store sells camping essentials, personal care items, apparel, snacks and gifts.
Firewood is available at the general store for $6 a bundle and $30 per cart (6 bundles).
The General Store and office does not have set hours. We are a two-person operation and are tending to the grounds and assisting campers at times. Staff is typically available throughout the day and can assist with general requests.

Firewood is available at the general store for $5 per bundle. We also deliever firewood on weekend afternoons.
General Store hours: Thursdays 4-6 PM, Fridays 8-10 AM & 4-6 PM, Saturdays 8-10 AM & 4-6 PM, and Sundays 8-10 AM. We are available throughout the day and encourage guests to use the paging system for needs outside of general store hours.
Pavilion
Hang out at the pavilion for a picnic, or rent it out for a private gathering. An all day, 8 hour rental is $150 + tax.
